The English Proficiency Programme of Institute
Optopreneur enables students with effective
language skills in English through its diverse,
rigorous, well-developed curriculum. Tis
programmed structure prepares the student to
build- up their language skills by learning
through , formal lectures in grammar and
vocabulary , participate in workshop activities
and learn from their peers, thematic studies in
critical reading, writing, and ESOL-developed
modules for speaking and listening. It fully
equips students in the programme to reach their
academic goals, career objectives , or other
future plans and make the best use of the time
they have with the Institute.

Curriculum
The
curriculum developed by the Institute uses the
current approaches in English language acquisition
and methodologies in teaching English to speakers
of other languages (ESOL),
especially the communicative language approached.
Students hone skills on the four language skills,
listening, reading, speaking and writing. Through
a variety of lessons and activities which could be
teacher-led or peer-to-peer learning.
Career Prospects
GRAMMAR, STRUCTURE and VOCABULARY
Students expand on their vocabulary through
vocabulary building activities along with lessons
in sentence structure and grammar so they would
inherently develop appropriate word choice and
self-correction which would make them an effective
communicator.
LISTENING AND SPEAKING
Using the North
Star @ series of books in listening and speaking,
students go through listening and speaking
activities that develop their active listening,
critical thinking, fluency in speaking. Through
different themes and topical issues, students are
given a variety of opportunities to practice their
newly-acquired vocabulary , share views and
opinion, and enhance their spontaneity in the
process.
READING AND WRITING
This class aims to develop the
student’s skills in critical reading and their
writing potential. Through the North Star @ series
of books in reading and writing, activities like
writing workshop and contextual reading integrate
the skills
